Assassin's Creed

This game generated a lot of buzz a year ago, so I just had to try it for myself.

3rd Person Action
Pros
- Having played through dozens of tutorials, I found AC's introduction to be absolutely hilarious. Tons of messages flying at you at once, no time to try out what is being instructed - but it's all a joke, and it's awesome.
- AC succeeds in teaching the game without seriously hindering the game itself - that is, the tutorial is merged with the game, for the most part. That way, the first hour is very interesting while still being able to teach you what to do.
- The story of modern-day you is interesting and intriguing.
- The HUD is extremely informative in a good way - even if you forget controls, it'll teach them again to you right on the spot.
- Graphics are amazing.
Cons
- That the game starts you off super-powered - then DEMOTES you to wimp - really bites. I don't want to be a weenie, I want to be the greatest assassin who has ever lived.
- The story of Altair starts of strong, but then suddenly peters off as you finish the beginning missions. A list of 9 people I have to go kill - great. Before I was interested in the sake of my clan, now I'm just doing their laundry. I also have a hard time buying that the greatest assassin of the clan would all of a sudden become so arrogant as to break all the rules - it's a hard line to swallow.
Verdict
I would certainly keep playing this game after my one-hour foray. The biggest gripe I've heard of this game is that it is repetitive - that may be true, but not in the first hour. The first hour is just fun.
