Castle Crashers
Aug. 27, 2008
I didn't rent this game, but bought it, because other people I knew were getting it. To be honest, this should bias my opinion of it a little (rental for almost nothing means I have no fear in criticizing it), so be warned.

Pros
- Mashing buttons to kill things is always fun.
- Online matchmaking is really quick to start up.
- For the brief periods of time you can play online with others, the game is fun.
Cons
- Online play kept disconnecting, making online play impossible.
- This game was meant to be multiplayer. As a result, single-player really isn't that much fun. The bosses (and some mini-bosses) were really hard to fight on your own. I literally died against the same mini-boss 10 times in a row until I leveled enough to just brute force my way past him, because all he did was constantly pick me up and throw me. With two people he would have been easy, but alone it was impossible.
- I really don't feel like watching animals crap themselves, and this game forces you to spend a good amount of time doing so.
- The game is nothing but constant button mashing.
- I could never get magic to hit anyone. It said it's splash, but it would never seem to connect unless my character was in juuuuuuust the right spot.
Verdict
I'll keep playing it because I bought it, but honestly it's not that great. Maybe if multiplayer worked in the slightest it would be fun.
