NCAA Football '09
Aug. 23, 2008
After a three day break, I decided to pick up a game genre that I REALLY don't ever play - football. I don't know much about football, and I was actually regretting having rented the game even before I played it.

Pros
- There are no pros in this game. It's NCAA!
Cons
- This game is completely lacking in a tutorial, which sucks for someone like me who doesn't know football or NCAA '09.
- The manual has almost nothing but key bindings in it, which sucks for someone like me who doesn't know football or NCAA '09.
- The game provides no almost no in-game help, which sucks for someone like me who doesn't know football or NCAA '09.
- Tons of terminology that I don't know and isn't explained by the game at all, which sucks for someone like me who doesn't know football or NCAA '09.
- There are tons and tons of controls. The manual is basically 6 pages of different controls. It's too complex without anything explaining what any of it means.
- The graphics are pretty poor for a modern game.
- The excessive amounts of advertising might be okay to football watchers but I found it annoying as hell.
Verdict
This game's target market is obviously people who know football well and have played a football game before, meaning I don't fit into the group that would think this game is fun. It's completely unapproachable, and as a result I had no fun whatsoever while playing.
Also, I meant to get Madden '09 but something must have gotten mixed up at Blockbuster. Oh well.
